This morning was pretty eventful. I’m currently 6 months pregnant with my first child child. I do have 3 fur babies, 2 dogs and 1 cat. This morning I walked outside to feed both our dogs. Unexpectedly, our American Bulldog, Milo, who is 60–70 pounds, collided with my pregnant belly.

Milo was trying to jump up onto a table outside. Instead he jumped upwards and collided with my belly — yes it’s as dumb as it sounds. The collision knocked the dog food up and out of the cup I was carrying and also caused my dog to miss his landing. Naturally, I cried, because I was instantly worried. He hit right where my baby is.

I would have called my OBGYN clinic but it’s Saturday so that’s not possible. I will go to the Emergency Room if I experience any cramping, bleeding, or anything else unusual. The great news is I’m pretty sure my little guy and I are fine.

After the shocking experience, I went to lay down on my side. I read some children’s books out loud to try to calm myself down for my growing baby. It worked. The sweet books brought me peace as my baby kicked and moved like normal while I read to him.
